Side-gusseted bags have extended sides that allow for more fillable space. They are a good option for improving the product-to-package ratio. Gusseted bags can hold more weight and increase filling volume than lay-flat bags. Layflat bags have limited space, while gusseted bags are expandable in volume. Additional space becomes available by unfolding the gusset and filling it with product.
